Lahore, Jun.4 (ANI): Pakistan’s former Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney has termed the house arrest and subsequent release of the Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed as a ‘drama’.
Burney said Saeed was never arrested, as he was living in his own house and was free to meet whosoever he wanted.
“The Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Jamaat-ud-Daawa chief was never arrested and his arrest was a drama. He was not in prison like other terrorists but was living in his own house and was allowed to meet whomever he wanted to meet,” The News quoted a statement released by Burner, as saying.
He also criticized the government for releasing Lal Masjid cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz.
“The hypocrisy of Pakistani leadership in government and the opposition is condemnable as why a person like Maulana Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid was released and allowed to go to Saudi Arabia,” Burney said. (ANI)
