Iran lodges complaint with Pakistan for its inaction against terror-group Jundullah

Lahore, Jun.1 (ANI):  Iran has lodged a strong protest with Pakistan over its failure to curb the ever increasing activities of Jundullah, a militant organization based in Pakistan.

According to well-placed diplomatic sources, Iran said the Jundullah not only threatens the diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Tehran, but it also poses a threat to the proposed Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project.

The sources said that Tehran is concerned over Islamabad’s failure to take any substantial action against the Jundullah, despite being given specific intelligence inputs about their nefarious activities.

It may be noted that the Jundullah claimed responsibility for the deadly suicide attack on May 28 which rocked the Ameer al-Momenin mosque in Zahedan killing 25 people and injuring over 125 persons.

Iran had said that the attack could have been averted if Pakistan had taken some immediate steps following the intelligence information provided by Tehran.

Recently, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mashallah Shakeri had addressed a press conference in Islamabad accusing Pakistan of allowing its soil to be used against Iran.

Shakeri had also claimed that the Jundullah network was located inside Balochistan, and asked the Pakistan government to take concrete step against its leadership to curb its activities.

Meanwhile, Iran has also shut down its border with Pakistan to protest against the Zahedan mosque bombing. (ANI)
