PCB not to conduct dope tests ahead of T20 World Cup

Lahore, May 27 (ANI):  The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would not conduct any dope tests on its players ahead of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, which starts in England from June 5.

PCB officials said the board has already alerted players regarding the use of the certain prohibited substances, so it did not consider it necessary to conduct the tests.

He said the International Cricket Council (ICC) would conduct random tests.

“The cricket’s ruling body ICC, however, would conduct random dope tests on nine players of each of the men’s team while two players from the women team will also be dope tested,” PCB’s Chief  Operating  Officer (COO) Saleem Altaf said.

Chairperson of PCB’s Women wing, Shirin Javed said the ICC has already nominated three Pakistan  players Sajda Shah, Marina Iqbal and Nazia to undergo dope test during the World Cup in England, The Daily Times reports. (ANI)
