US ‘pregnant man’ gives birth to second child
New York, June 10 (ANI): Thomas Beatie, the transgendered man who created history last year by being the first “pregnant man”, has given birth to a healthy baby boy during natural childbirth, it has been reported.
20/20 reports that Beatie’s wife, Nancy, is reportedly planning to breastfeed the couple’s newborn, as she did with their 1-year-old daughter, Susan Juliette.
Beatie, 35, who was originally born a woman named Tracy, became a media sensation last year when photos of him with a beard and a pregnant belly were made public, reports The New York Daily News.
When questions regarding the medical mystery emerged, Beatie told Barbara Walters that he had sex-reassignment surgery, while still keeping his female reproductive organs, a decision that later benefited the couple as Nancy, 46, was not able to bear children.
During this conversation with Walters, Beatie revealed that he was expecting the couple’s second child.
“I feel good. I had my checkups with my hormone level, as far as the HCG. And everything is right on track,” he said.
In a bid to have another baby, Beatie did not go back on the male hormone testosterone after his daughter’s birth, who was also delivered naturally. (ANI)
